The nation’s top authority on gun rights, the National Rifle Association (NRA), awarded Republican State Senator Kel Seliger their coveted A-Rating and announced their endorsement of his candidacy for re-election. Seliger is seeking re-election to Texas Senate District 31, the area covering 37 counties across the Panhandle, South Plains, and Permian Basin, including the cities of Amarillo, Midland, Odessa, and Big Spring. SD 31 is one of Texas’ most conservative and largest districts – bigger than the entire state of Indiana.
“Ensuring the safety of our families has always been a top priority of mine,” Seliger said. “As a family man, I sleep easy knowing that my loved ones are safe because of our fundamental right to bear arms. Though I am proud of the progress we have made, we need to continue working hard to advance 2nd Amendment rights for future generations.”
Along with the endorsement, the NRA gave Seliger an A-Rating for his strong record of support on issues of importance to gun owners.
Seliger has amassed a string of 2nd Amendment victories in the Texas Senate. He voted to pass Texas’ “Open Carry” law and cut the License-to-Carry fee to the lowest cost in the nation. Seliger also played a key role in passing the “Campus Carry” law that allows students at public Texas universities to protect themselves.
